Check-in
Check-in procedure for bookings made by third party intermediaries
Where a booking appears to have been made through a third-party travel agent who has no commercial relationship with Ryanair, the booking may be blocked. As third-party travel agents often do not provide Ryanair with the passenger’s correct email address and payment details, we need to verify the passenger’s identity before they can manage their booking and check-in online. Ryanair needs to carry out this verification process in order to ensure we can comply with safety and security requirements.
For your safety and security, and for the safety and security of your fellow passengers and our crew, the check-in process must be completed by you personally, by a passenger on your booking, or by an individual with personal knowledge of you and of the contents of your luggage. This requirement is to ensure you are on notice of, and that you, a passenger on your booking, or an individual with personal knowledge of you and of the contents of your luggage have confirmed compliance with required safety, security and public health protocols, including those set out by the ICAO Technical Instructions, Regulation (EU) 2015/1998, and the EASA/ECDC Covid-19 Aviation Health Safety Protocol.
Once a passenger on the booking has completed Ryanair’s verification process, we will provide full access to the booking, including the ability to make changes to the booking, add additional services, and complete online check-in.
There are two online verification options available:
1. Express Verification –
- Uses facial recognition technology.
- Verify in approx. 2 minutes.
- Requires a copy of the passenger’s identification documentation and a device with a camera.
2. Standard Verification –
- Verifies the passenger’s signature.
- Verify within 7 days.
- Requires a copy of the passenger’s identification documentation and a device with a camera.
Express Verification is available at a cost of £/€0.59 per booking. This fee covers the cost of the face recognition tool. Ryanair does not benefit commercially from verification fees. There is no charge for Standard Verification.
Passengers who do not avail of Express Verification or Standard Verification to verify their bookings can verify at the Ryanair ticket desk up to 60 minutes before departure. However, we do not recommend this option as an airport check-in fee will apply (please see our Table of Fees).
Airport Check-in Fees
Airport check-in is available but charges will apply. Customers who have not checked in online will encounter an airport check in fee, which is £/€55 (for flights from Spain €/£ 30) per passenger. If you have checked in but you have not printed your boarding pass, you will be charged for the boarding pass reissue fee, which is £/€20 per passenger.
